The Menendez brothers’ Beverly Hills house, which was once a gruesome crime scene, holds a price of nearly $20 million today. Inside the mansion, Erik and Lyle Menendez fatally shot their parents in August 1989. The brothers later claimed they committed the shooting in an act of self-defense, accusing their parents of inflicting years of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse on them. However, a highly publicized case against the two resulted in convictions and life sentences without parole.
The Menendez house was sold for $17M in March 2024
The Menendez house, where brothers Erik and Lyle shot their parents, Jose and Kitty, has been on the market a couple of times. Reportedly, the multimillion-dollar mansion that sits on Elm Drive in Beverly Hills has had some A-lister owners before, including musicians like Prince and Elton John, director Harold Prince, and even a Saudi prince.
PEOPLE stated that in 1991, a year after the Menendez brothers’ arrest, an undisclosed buyer bought the house for $3.6 million. Two years later, now-deceased screenwriter William Link acquired the upstate mansion and resided there for eight years before selling it for $3.7 million in 2001. The property was recently on the market for more than five times that amount.
Rodeo Realty’s Amy Vertun listed the Menendez brothers’ former house at the price of $19,999,500 last December. Link sold the Beverly Hills mansion to telecommunications executive Sam Delug, who then held ownership for more than two decades. Earlier this year, Delug settled a deal of $17 million with an unnamed buyer.
In the last few years, the Menendez brothers’ case has gained significant traction while they serve time behind bars. The regenerated interest is partly owing to their claims of innocence and abuse allegations against their parents. In addition, Netflix released Ryan Murphy’s anthology series, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” highlighting debatable claims surrounding the case.
