Anderson recently graced the cover of Glamour’s new Women of the Year issue. The 57-year-old can be seen in minimal makeup for the magazine shoot. During the interview, Anderson was asked about her decision to no longer wear heavy makeup. The “Baywatch” star said she decided to practice it and play with it. Although not against makeup, Anderson explained she “felt like it just looked better on me in my 20s than it did now.”

Moreover, Anderson got candid and shared that at one point, “You’re going to hit a crossroads in your 50s.” She explained that it makes the person go, “Am I going to chase youth? Am I going to be miserable? Or am I going to be self-accepting?” Anderson said, “It’s a practice.” The star shared that “it’s hard to say that you’re attempting” the practice “if you’re still doing the red carpets and the covers of magazines plastered in makeup.”

Anderson also shared in the interview that she would “rather be raw” instead of “trying to be this polished person.” The actor stated that the “process is really empowering.” She shared a strong message, “What we look like underneath the mask is still good enough for a cover of a magazine.”

Anderson also highlighted the gravity of embracing one’s imperfections. She said it is important to “accept yourself as you are” regardless of “where you are in your beauty journey.” The “The Last Showgirl” actor said, “I’m having a big moment accepting scars I have or imperfections.”

Following that, Anderson shared, “Ten years ago, I felt like a failure.” The model added, “I think it was probably the last 20 years, maybe.” Nevertheless, Anderson said she is “definitely much happier now.”
