Elisabeth Ovesen, a New York Times bestselling author, revealed she was “gifted” to Sean “Diddy” Combs over two decades ago. In light of recent developments concerning allegations against Diddy, Ovesen opened up about her experience. The author also discloses details about her unseemly past, when she was only 21 and went by Karrine Steffans. The now-46-year-old admits to having witnessed Diddy’s alleged “Freak Off” sex session and what happened afterward.
Elisabeth Ovesen on meeting Diddy and what she saw at freak offs
Elisabeth Ovesen published her memoir “Confessions of a Video Vixen” in 2005, exposing multiple hip-hop stars for their improprieties. In her book, she revealed these men were Murder Inc. Record’s boss Irv Gotti, and flagship artist Ja Rule. In a recent interview with Daily Beast, Ovesen shared that she met Diddy in February 2001. She disclosed that she had been “popping pills” and drinking with some music executives in a limousine in Los Angeles when they “gifted” her to Diddy.
Ovesen said she realized an executive was giving her away as a “gift.” Diddy “pulled up” in a car while she was leaving a club late at night when “he asked who I was, and the men spoke for me.” Moreover, Ovesen recalled that Diddy was “at the forefront of the million-dollar look.” She knew it was the chance of a lifetime. Remembering the event from that night, she added, “He was like, ‘Send her to my house.’ And that was it. I got the order to go to his house, and that was the first time he and I spent time.”
The author claimed she was prepared for what was coming her way when she arrived at Diddy’s house. In the interview, Ovesen clarified, “I was not one of his victims,” despite witnessing what happened at Diddy’s alleged “Freaks Off” sessions. She then added, “And his victims deserve the space and time to discuss what happened in those rooms.” However, Oveson claimed she had intended to write about what happened in the world of hip-hop where “nearly everything goes” the moment she wanted into Diddy’s house with “eyes open” that night.
Additionally, Oveson claimed in a 2015 interview with Vlad TV, “No one wanted the book at first. Mainstream media was like what is this Black girl with her stories with all these Black people.” However, her memoir eventually hit the target audience and took the lid off of the happenings around Hollywood’s hip-hop and entertainment fractions. The book reportedly details Ovesen’s relationships with Jay-Z, DMX, and Diddy. It also details her romantic connections with Vin Diesel, Fred Durst, Bobby Brown, Lil Wayne, Method Man, Bill Maher, etc.
Elisabeth Ovesen then shared with Daily Beast what she witnessed at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ alleged freak-offs. She compared one particular party at the rapper’s mansion on Star Island, Miami, to The Great Gatsby. The outlet described this party, per Ovesen’s claims, as “men in tuxedos, topless women in angel wings, champagne and synchronized swimmers on the outside.” Furthermore, people engaged in “group sex in the bathrooms” at the party that had “trays of hors d’oeuvres and drug pills.”
The author revealed, “You choose your pill, you take your champagne, and that’s your vibe for the night,” calling it “f—ing intense.” She then mentioned how “that was kind of one scene” while something more disturbing happened behind closed doors. Elisabeth Ovesen later discussed seeing the video of Diddy assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura after an alleged “Freak Off.” She said she could not watch the “whole thing” and called it “very triggering.”
Overson added that she “knew exactly what that was,” admitting she had been in similar situations and knows “exactly how that feels. And it’s not just Diddy, and it’s not just music or hip hop.” The problem is “men who deep down hate women,” she said. The author then ended the interview by saying, “I have no message for men.” She explicitly mentioned that her “message is for women” as she urges more “women need to tell their stories as loudly and often as possible.”
