Jimmy Kimmel Trolls Donald Trump Mercilessly Over Oscars Joke Slip-Up

Jimmy Kimmel has hit back at Donald Trump for criticizing him over his Oscars joke from earlier this year. The comedian ridiculed Trump in one of his talk show segments for bringing up a months-old joke during his Indiana rally.

In March, Kimmel, who hosted the 96th Academy Awards, had read the former president’s Truth Social post on stage before the Best Picture announcement. Trump, still unhappy about the quip, recalled it during the Pennsylvania rally, describing the host as one of the worst. He called Kimmel one of the “dumbest human beings” and a “dope.” Kimmel has never hesitated to deliver a witty message, and he recently replied to Trump’s comment with a sarcastic segment on his show.

Jimmy Kimmel mocks Trump for bringing up old Oscars joke at Pennsylvania rally

Jimmy Kimmel mocked Donald Trump on his talk show for mentioning the Oscars joke again during his recent Pennsylvania rally. The talk show host promptly responded to the criticism in the latest episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” At first, he compared Trump to chimpanzees, mentioning, “No offense to the chimpanzees” before giving context to the audience.

“Donald Trump gave a crowd in Indiana, Pennsylvania, yet another review of my performance at the Academy Awards,” Kimmel continued. Immediately, a clip of Trump from the rally popped up on the screen, in which the former president describes Kimmel as the “worst host in the history of Academy Awards.” He also called the comedian a “stupid guy” and “one of the dumbest human beings ever.”

Following a long pause, Jimmy Kimmel joked about Donald Trump’s comments, “Isn’t that sweet? He’s confusing me with one of his sons again.” He continued after delivering the insult, “Wow! Do you think he’s flirting with me? What is this?” The 56-year-old stretched the joke so far as to say, “When I die I would like that to be at the clip they play at the Emmys’ In Memoriam montage.”

Moreover, Jimmy Kimmel referred to the moment Donald Trump mentioned his wife and added, “He even worked my wife in there. Should I be worried that Trump has mentioned my wife more times at his rallies this year than his own?” He also highlighted the fact that “the Oscars were more than six months ago,” poking at the Republican nominee for “still stewing over this joke.” Kimmel added, “He keeps bringing it up, which I don’t mind at all. In fact, I love it. I just wish he would quote it correctly.”

For the final part, Kimmel calls his wife, Molly McNearney, on stage so she can offer Trump some words of wisdom. McNearney appeared with an Emmy in hand, sporting a shirt with the quote, “Isn’t it past your jail time?” Kimmel’s wife uses this occasion to thank “Donald for his support” and brings the current abortion bans in America to his attention.

She said, “One in three women currently in this country is living under an abortion ban because you stacked our Supreme Court. Thanks to you, women in 21 states can’t make their own choice about their own life and their own body… My advice to you is to shut up and go away.” Showing her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, McNearney then stated, “Let a competent woman take over.”

Donald Trump first spoke about Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscars joke in April amid his hush money trial for the Stormy Daniels case. Back then, he had also mistaken Kimmel for Oscar-winner Al Pacino.

Besides the Jimmy Kimmel Live segment, the TV show host mocked Donald Trump on his official Instagram. Kimmel posted a screengrab that mentioned Trump’s latest comments on him. He jokingly captioned the post, “This is very hurtful, especially coming from a close friend.”
