They revealed having “seen all of the questions” about “their origin story” and allegations, which they claim are “false.”
The duo further discussed the fact if they “owed” an explanation to anybody and realized “how social media can magnify the truth or run far with untruths.” Following this, they came to the ultimate conclusion to openly address the matter in hopes of putting a lid on it “for the sake of our healing process.”

Lastly, the former couple expressed gratitude to all their “supporters, friends, and family” for their “love, care, and concern.” Additionally, they requested some “peace and space to maintain a safe and happy environment” as they continue to co-parent their girl, Hazel. The two also announced their intentions to “remain a family regardless of our public facing title,” asking them to be “understanding and gentle” to Hazel. Finally, they conveyed their appreciation for everyone who heard their side of the story and thanked well-wishers for keeping them in their prayers.
Victoria Monet and John Gaines supposedly started dating in February 2020 when he appeared in the Grammy-winner’s music video. While the two shared kisses in the video, they never confirmed a romantic relationship. Later that year in December, Gaines announced Monet’s pregnancy on his Instagram, and the following February, they welcomed their daughter, Hazel. Earlier this year, Monet and Gaines’ daughter also made her red carpet debut at the 66th Grammy Awards.
