This Is What Trump & Harris Have Said About Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs

Hip hop mogul Diddy, aka Sean Combs, was arrested and indicted in New York, leading many to find out what presidential nominees Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have said about Diddy in the past. Trump posted on Friday, September 20 on Truth Social a supposed image of Diddy putting his arm around Harris, but it was quickly discovered that it was a doctored photo of Harris and her ex-boyfriend Montel Williams, per Mediaite. That said, Harris has shared some kind words for Diddy in the past, and and Trump has made positive comments about him too.

What has Donald Trump said about Diddy in the past?

Trump once praised Diddy as a “good friend” of his and called him a “good guy” during an episode of The Apprentice.

In the season premiere for Season 12 of The Apprentice (or Season 5 of The Celebrity Apprentice), which can be found on the Internet Archive, Trump made several remarks about Diddy when contestant Aubrey O’Day shared that she worked for the mogul for six years. In the TV boardroom, he said, “You know he is a good friend of mine. He’s a good guy.” Though O’Day didn’t want to say whether Diddy was actually “a good guy,” Trump repeated that he was and wanted “to stick up for him.”

On the day of Diddy’s arrest, O’Day posted on X (formerly Twitter) that it was “a win for women all over the world, not just me.”

Trump also reposted on X in 2015 an article from The Hill where Diddy said he was “a fan of Donald Trump.”

In a separate article on The Hill, Diddy said that “Donald Trump is a friend of mine, and he works very hard” in an interview with The Washington Post (article not available). He also called Trump an example of “a model mogul.”

In March 2005, Diddy accepted an award from the Rush Philanthropic Foundation from Donald Trump and his wife Melania at Mar-A-Lago Club, as noted by USA Today. Trump, along with many other celebrities like Oprah and Derek Jeter, also attended Diddy’s 29th birthday party in 1998.

What has Kamala Harris said about Diddy in the past?

Kamala Harris once thanked Diddy on X in 2010 for hosting a town hall about the impact of Covid-19 in “perpetuating racial inequality and health disparities.”

The town hall in question was an online event called “State of Emergency: The State of Black America & Coronavirus” that was hosted by Diddy. The event, which was posted on YouTube on April 2020, shared data that the disease was affecting black communities around the United States at disproportionately high rates.

The town hall featured a short introduction by Kamala Harris right before Sean Combs gave a speech about the event that included other celebrities, such as Big Sean, Angela Rye, Fat Joe, Al Sharpton, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
