Laura Loomer is a far-right orbiter of Donald Trump and was recently spotted attending events with the presidential candidate commemorating the September 11 terrorist attacks. Shortly after that, she took to X to give her controversial predictions on what would happen if Kamala Harris was elected president. Loomer’s comments were so offensive that even Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has amplified conspiracy theories involving QAnon and Pizzagate, said she was out of line.
Laura Loomer’s ‘racist’ comments against Kamala Harris give even Marjorie Taylor Greene pause
Loomer’s comments stemmed from a post from Kamala Harris on X about visiting her grandparents in India. In response, Loomer stated:
“If Kamala Harris wins, the White House will smell like curry & White House speeches will be facilitated via a call center and the American people will only be able to convey their feedback through a customer satisfaction survey at the end of the call that nobody will understand.”
Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has her own history of inflammatory comments, found Loomer’s comment to be racist. She responded:
“This is appalling and extremely racist. It does not represent who we are as Republicans or MAGA.
This does not represent President Trump.
This type of behavior should not be tolerated ever.
Laura Loomer should take this down.”
Greene went on to explain her past friendship with Loomer and how the two eventually fell out.
According to CNN, Loomer is rumored to be the one who influenced Trump to make statements about conspiracy theories that Haitian immigrants are eating people’s pets in Ohio during the recent debate. Reportedly, Trump considered Loomer for a role in his campaign in 2023. However, his team allegedly fought back against that idea hard. However, she’s evidently taken on the role of informal advisor at the very least.
Any way you look at it, the optics of being associated with Loomer are terrible for Trump, especially when his poll numbers are slipping. Not only is she espousing some incredibly harmful and unpopular rhetoric, but she’s also splintering Trump’s base of support.
