Katy Perry recently spoke out about her relationship troubles with Orlando Bloom in her “Call Her Daddy” podcast appearance. The pair, who share a daughter, met in 2016 and have been going strong for many years. However, there was a year when Katy Perry’s relationship with Orlando Bloom crumbled and the two almost went through a permanent breakup.
Perry opened up on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast about her former breakup with Bloom. The “Teenage Dream” singer recalled she met the actor at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards over an In-N-Out burger. Perry says they “weren’t really in it from day one.” She then shares that Bloom “had just done a huge time of celibacy.” The actor “had set intentions,” whereas she “was fresh out of a relationship.” Back then, Perry felt like she couldn’t “do this anymore.”
Katy Perry reveals what led to Orlando Bloom breakup on Alex Cooper’s podcast
Perry recalled when Bloom went for a week-long Hoffman Process at a personal growth retreat. The singer shared that the process helps a person “rewire” the way they “think about themselves” and “all the bad habits.” Perry continued that it “rewires your neural pathways through different physical activities.” She explained that the process doesn’t have “medicine or plant medicine.” It involves programming put together by scientists and therapists to help “quiet that imposter syndrome.” Perry added that it helps them “awaken” themselves and “find that reborn mode.”
When Bloom returned from the retreat, “he wasn’t playing this cat-mouse game anymore” with Perry. This made the singer go, “This is boring. I’m moving on.” Perry shares that she was “used to the push-pull” and “playing games” for the “dopamine hit.” After she realized she had a “really tough year,” she also underwent the same process towards the end of the year when she was separated from Bloom. Perry said the process saved her life, saying “I would be dead without it.”
Perry then opened up about how she went through self-doubt after her 2017 album “Witness” underperformed. She said the process helped her “rewire” the way she thought about herself. Furthermore, Perry shared that she initiated getting back together with Bloom. The singer then got emotional when she said that she does “need help” and “a partner.” Perry then teared up and shared that although she is “strong,” she does “need help sometimes.”
