Mr. McMahon Netflix Documentary Will Cover Vince’s ‘Explosive’ Sexual Misconduct Allegations

A six-episode Vince McMahon documentary called Mr. McMahon has been announced by Netflix. And it will daringly cover the sexual misconduct allegations against the controversial co-founder of the WWE. The series will be directed by Chris Smith of “Tiger King” fame, and it will be produced by Smith and Bill Simmons. Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming Mr. McMahon docu-series on Netflix.

What will the Vince McMahon Netflix documentary cover?

The Mr. McMahon Netflix documentary will include interviews with Vince McMahon before his resignation in January 2024 and feature journalists who unearthed the “explosive” allegations against him.

This is according to Netflix’s Tudum, which goes into more detail about the docuseries. The main throughline of the documentary will be about “McMahon’s transformation of WWE from a small, regional business into a global entertainment powerhouse.” The series will also include interviews with his family members, business associates, and other “iconic names in wrestling history.” It seeks to discover who Mr. McMahon really is “beneath the person he presented to the world.”

Smith revealed that the documentary had been in production for over four years, but the story was forced to evolve considering the “extremely harrowing allegations” against him in the detailed sexual assault lawsuit by former WWE staffer Janel Grant. The lawsuit she filed in January accuses McMahon, executive Jon Laurinaitis, and the WWE of gross sexual misconduct, including graphic details and alleged texts of systemic exploitation and abuse.

All six episodes of Mr. McMahon will be released on September 25, 2024, meaning that it won’t be split into multiple parts, like other documentaries on the platform.

WWE superstar Becky Lynch has called the allegations “horrible”, though Vince McMahon is still in contact with top WWE wrestlers, like John Cena and The Rock, after his resignation. In May, Grant agreed to suspend her lawsuit pending a federal investigation against McMahon, as reported by NBC News.
