Ben Stiller Will Vote for Kamala Harris: ‘It’s Time for Change’

American actor Ben Stiller recently endorsed Kamala Harris in her run for president. In the viral video, the actor revealed that he will vote for the Vice President “because it’s time for change.” However, Stiller’s support for the Democratic Party’s nominee has received mixed responses on social media as some have questioned his stance.

Journalist Nicholas A. Ballasy took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the video interview with Ben Stiller. When asked about Harris’ platform, the actor expressed his “excitement” over “moving forward and all the energy and excitement that’s around this movement right now.” Stiller added, “That’s why I’m here because it’s time for change and it seems like it’s happening.”

Stiller is further asked if he thinks Harris will be able to sustain momentum following the Democratic National Convention. The filmmaker and actor asserts he’s “sure” and says on the election, “It’s going to be close, but everyone’s motivated to work and make it happen.” The “Night at the Museum” star added that Harris and Tim Walz “are just incredible candidates.”

Stiller’s statement was met with criticism as several questioned specifically what “change” the actor was talking about. An X (formerly Twitter) user replied, “She is already in the White House?,” and continued to ask, “If Biden is doing so great why make changes?” Donald Trump Jr. also jumped into the heated discussion and wrote, “There will be no change.” He highlighted, “It’s literally the Biden-Harris administration right now.” Trump Jr. questioned why Harris did not “push for any change for the last 4 years.”

Following President Joe Biden’s exit from the 2024 presidential race, George Clooney endorsed Harris for the run. He shared that he was also excited to support Harris’ bid. Several other Hollywood celebrities have extended their support for the Vice President in her presidential run.
