Wannabe Trump Assassin Arrested in Arizona

Arizona authorities have arrested a man who claimed he was going to kill Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office took Ronald Lee Syvrud into custody ahead of a speech by Trump at the southern border. Authorities stated that Syvrud had made threatening statements on social media targeting Trump, indicating he wanted to kill the former president.

Sex offender arrested for threatening to kill Trump on social media

After a short manhunt, Cochise County Sheriffs arrested Ronald Lee Syvrud for threats made against Donald Trump on social media, according to Fox News. According to authorities, Syvrud made the threats over two days and threatened to kill the former president.

Syvrud also had warrants for his arrest out of Wisconsin for a DUI and failure to appear, as well as in Graham County, Arizona, for a hit-and-run and failure to register as a sex offender.

According to Wisconsin public records, Syvrud was found guilty of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and Exposing a Child to Harmful Material – Sale. As a result, he is required to be on the sex offender registry for the rest of his life.

Fortunately, Syvrud’s actions aren’t connected with last month’s assassination attempt against Trump. According to authorities, he was acting on his own, and there’s no conspiracy to be found.

Despite the imperative to capture Syvrud, Trump was apparently unaware of the situation. At a Thursday press conference in response to an inquiry, he said he hadn’t heard about it and joked, “Thank you for telling. Let’s get out of here, right now!” He then reiterated that he has great respect for the Secret Service and their actions to shield him during the incident in Butler.

Despite the threat, it seems the Trump campaign never intended to change his schedule. His plans continue as usual.
