During her DNC speech, actress Mindy Kaling had a message for Ben Affleck regarding the news of his divorce from Jennifer Lopez. Known for her roles in The Office and The Mindy Project, Kaling lightly jabbed at Affleck, offering him support amid his recent split from Lopez. She told Affleck to “hang in there” amid the divorce as she addressed the crowd in Chicago’s United Center.
Kaling and Affleck are both Massachusetts natives and Kaling’s comment came during the state’s delegation at the DNC. She spoke as the crowd cheered, “I love you Massachusetts. Everyone is always hating on us. But, they just don’t get it! Go Sox! Go Jayson Tatum! Ben Affleck, hang in there!” referring to his highly publicized divorce. She then added, “Dunkin’ Donuts is the best coffee in the world.”
Kaling, who also once previously portrayed Affleck in an off-Broadway play, delivered her message of support one day after Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce, which came after months of speculation. Affleck and Lopez had tied the know in July 2022, and, in the divorce filings, Lopez has reportedly listed the date of their separation as April 26, 2024.
Jennifer Lopez has been married four times, including her two-year marriage to Ben Affleck. Lopez also shares twins with her third husband, Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, Affleck’s decade-long marriage to Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children, ended with the couple’s split in 2015.
