Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce is all over the news, and the X (former Twitter) bandwagon has never shied away from a hot and heavy discussion. Citing a scene from JLo’s documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” a user wrote, “where you can tell when it clicked for him [Affleck] that it was gonna be a problem.” The person added that “it’s no coincidence” they were separating months after the film aired. Other X users elaborated on how JLo “printed all his love letters, bound them in a book, and let the whole production read them.”
Awkward video of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez resurfaces after divorce
In light of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s divorce, an awkward clip from the documentary “The Greatest Love Story Never Told” has resurfaced on X. In the video, JLo shows her production team a book that comprises every letter and email she and Affleck shared with each other 20 years ago. According to BBC, the duo first started dating in 2003 while working together on the set of Gigli. However, they had called it quits a year later.
In the video, Lopez calls the book their “Bible” and mentions how she left it there in the studio for people to read. The members of her production team then describe their experiences going through the letters, calling Ben Affleck “Boyfriend of the Year” material. However, Affleck’s response, as shown in the clip, exhibits his mixed feelings about JLo sharing the book with her team.
X users believe this may have been the first sign of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s impending divorce. In the video, the “Gone Girl” actor recalls that Lopez told him, “This is the kind of inspiration…. I’ve been showing them the book.” Shocked, Affleck said, “I was like, ‘You’ve been showing all the musicians all those letters that, uh…'” He added, “And they’re like, ‘Yeah, we call you Pen Affleck,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, my God.'”
Later, Ben Affleck makes a witty remark about how Jennifer Lopez “making a record” about the greatest love story never told “seems like of like telling it.” He said, “I did really find the beauty and the poetry, and the irony, in the fact that it’s the greatest love story never told, and if you’re making a record about it…..that seems kind of like telling it.”
Now, since the news of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce made headlines, X users are suggesting how that moment the clip changed everything. Some even went on to call JLo out for an “egregious invasion of privacy.”
Another user clarified, “More specifically he printed them and made the book as an anniversary gift and THEN she let everyone read them.” Meanwhile, someone said, “Damn, I want to watch for just this scene alone & only this scene. As soon as that scene is done, it’s a wrap, ?, watching something else.” Others pointed out that “the documentary wasn’t live,” claiming they could have edited it out. “It was his production lol,” stated the user.
