Donald Trump has called his presidential rival Kamala Harris “a beautiful woman,” comparing her to his wife Melania Trump.
Trump made the comment in an X (formerly Twitter) Spaces conversation with Elon Musk. Referring to Kamala appearing on the front cover of Time Magazine, Trump said: “Actually, she looked very much like our great First Lady, Melania.” Elon laughed and agreed, before Trump continued: “She didn’t look like Camilla, but of course she’s a beautiful woman, so we’ll leave it at that.”
Listeners pointed out that Trump likely pronounced “Kamala” incorrectly when referring to “Camilla.” The moment has since gone viral, with the odd exchange being clipped and reposted on X by listeners.

Trump’s comments were made during his conversation with Musk, which took place during an audio livestream via X’s Spaces feature. Unfortunately for Musk, the stream was plagued with technical issues, starting over 40 minutes later than its scheduled time. Musk claimed that the problems were the result of a “massive DDoS attack” on X’s servers.
The hour-long conversation saw Musk show his support for Trump’s presidential campaign. The pair have had a tumultuous relationship, though Musk is reportedly in the process of donating $45 million per month to a pro-Trump Super Pac. Trump has said that he now has “no choice” but to support electric cars because of Elon’s strong endorsement. The former president also rejoined X prior to the Spaces call, which resulted in his Truth Social platform stock tumbling.
