We’re on the eve of Morbius arriving in theaters, but this movie still doesn’t seem real. Originally scheduled for a July 2020 release, the film was delayed several times, finally landing on its ironic April fools date. Now, within less than a week of said release, the film’s director, Daniel Espinosa is spoiling parts of the movie. At this point, would we expect any less from this trash fire of a movie?
In a recent Twitter Q&A, Espinosa sat down with Cinema Blend to answer people’s burning questions about Morbius. However, it seems that Espinosa went too far and outright spoiled the ending of the movie, an ending that would have probably been a nice surprise for moviegoers. As it turns out, even the director thought the movie had already been released back in January, because no filmmaker in their right mind would spoil their movie before it comes out.
Spoilers ahead, we guess?
Attention, #SpiderMan fans! As eagle-eyed fans probably already know, Morbius is not set in the MCU, but rather in the Sony spider-verse with Tom Hardy’s Venom. After confirming that Sony’s shred universe has its own version of Spider-Man (not Tom Holland), Espinosa continued to spoil the post-credits scenes in the movie, which are rumored to be some of the worst in any comic book movie.
“At the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home, and in No Way Home itself, it is clearly established that it is possible for characters to transfer from one Multiverse to another,” explained Espinosa. “The events of No Way Home had the effect of transferring Venom and Vulture (and maybe others) back and forth between the MCU and the Venom Universe.”
So there you have it, now there’s no reason to see Morbius in theaters, right? Right?
