In the latest edition of Worst Reviews Ever, we’re pulling together the best audience movie reviews on the internet. From the funny to the ironic, the truthful to the downright silly, we’re diving into the deep, dark rabbit hole of online movie fandom.
Dune presents an interesting conundrum for moviegoers. It’s a faithful adaptation of arguably the most influential Science Fiction novels of all time, almost to a fault. They say that the novel was unadaptable into film format, and that’s partially true. While Denis Villeneuve’s vision is undoubtedly perfect, Dune also happens to be half of a movie. While There was naturally some backlash when Villeneuve wasn’t nominated for Best Director at this year’s Oscars, this is the equivalent of Peter Jackson being nominated for Lord of the Rings before it was finished. Despite the fact that Dune managed to secure 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, that hasn’t stopped fans from sharing their honest opinions on the film. Here are the funniest reviews of 2021’s Dune.
