The buzz surrounding The Batman movie is almost as strong as a triple espresso. Colin Farrell, who plays supervillain Oswald Cobblepot-Penguin in the forthcoming thriller, contributed to that when he made a Starbucks run in full costume.
In an interview with Collider, the Golden Globe-winning actor recounted how he stopped into a Burbank, California, location of the coffee chain wearing fake teeth, a wig, facial prosthetics, and a bodysuit.
“The first day we tried the whole thing out, we took it for a drive, a spin metaphorically speaking,” Farrell said. “I went into Starbucks and ordered myself a very un-Oswald drink, an oat-milk latte with two stevia sweeteners.”
The look, which took as many as eight hours and a team of up to 15 people to accomplish, was apparently convincing enough.
“I got a couple of stares but only because it’s such an imposing look,” Farrell said.
We’ve been meaning to quit coffee for a while now, but if we saw the Penguin at our local Starbucks, that’d be sufficient to scare us off java for good.
