It’s one thing for actors to have sex onscreen as part of a film or TV role. In those cases, we’re all for it, and will gladly watch the attractive people boink, especially given the flattering lighting and perfect soundtrack. We might even get off ourselves in the process. But it’s quite another thing when celebrities cross over into sex tape territory.
The low-budget vids of famous people having regular, unscripted sex are anything but alluring. In fact, they’re a total turn-off…because “celebrities, they’re just like us” is an unfortunately true maxim when it comes to their sex lives IRL.
But that doesn’t seem to stop celebs from making sex tapes. And when those tapes inevitably leak, we all have to watch the scandals play out in the media, whether we want to or not. Some sex tape scandals have become so overblown, they’ve been reimagined as TV series or picked apart in documentaries.

The Irish actor and his former girlfriend/Playboy model Nicole Narain once appeared in a leaked sex tape. She was sued, but the matter was reportedly resolved out of court in an amicable manner. All publicity is good publicity?

J.Lo’s marriage to Ojani Noa in 1997 was so short it’s hardly worth paying attention to, except for the fact that it produced 21 hours of graphic footage (which reportedly included spanking) of the pop singer-turned-movie star. Luckily for Lopez (but unfortunately for us), she somehow managed to block the video from ever seeing the light of day.

Paris Hilton was just another heiress until a 2003 nightvision sex tape shot in France became public. Titled 1 Night in Paris, it featured her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon, who ended up paying her damages for the leak in an out-of-court settlement.

Kim Kardashian was another nobody until a sex tape made her a star. It took place in 2007 and featured singer Ray J. The most disgusting part, however, is that Kim’s “momager,” Kris Jenner, reportedly negotiated the sale of the tape for at least $10 million.

Known for his performance as Mini Me in the Austin Powers franchise, this pint-sized actor made a sex tape with his former live-in girlfriend that was allegedly on the bidding block for $100K.

3. Rob Lowe
The bad-boy actor was seen on tape gettin’ it on with two girls (one of whom was underage) in an Atlanta room in 1998. But Lowe seems to have no regrets – except one. “The real fuck up was that I didn’t wait 20 years later to do it where it would have helped my career,” he later said on WTF With Marc Maron.

The former wrestler Hulk Hogan filmed a naughty vid with Heather Clem that was released in 2012. The bizarre part, though, is that she was the ex-wife of his friend Bubba the Love Sponge, who was reportedly in on the X-rated venture. In the film, someone suspected to be Bubba can be heard saying, “You guys do your thing. I’ll be in the office.” Talk about a buzzkill.
