Brad Pitt Makes Cameo in 'The Lost City,' First Person to Steal Channing Tatum's Thunder

Brad Pitt Makes Cameo in ‘The Lost City’ Trailer, First Person to Steal Channing Tatum’s Thunder

Former stripper turned A-list actor, Channing Tatum, has been your girlfriend/wife’s “free pass” list since 2006’s Step Up. For obvious reasons, 2012’s Magic Mike took his heartthrob status to the next level as he was named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive. Now, Tatum is set to star opposite Sandra Bullock in Adam and Aaron Nee’s upcoming rom-com, The Lost City.

The film follows a romance author, Loretta Sage (Bullock), who is kidnapped by a greedy billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) searching for a treasure described in one of her books. Therefore, the dim-witted cover model on all of her books, Alan (Tatum), attempts to rescue her before the pair get swept up in an Indiana Jones-esque adventure. It also stars Patti Harrison, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Oscar Nunez, Bowen Yang, and William Bradley Pitt. That’s right. Unfortunately for Tatum, the OG sex symbol (and People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive 2000) is here to steal his thunder. Check out The Lost City’s first trailer below.

Normally, celebrity cameos ala Tatum as Danny McBride’s sex slave in This Is the End or Pitt as Vanisher in Deadpool 2 come as a surprise and certainly aren’t featured in the trailer. However, Pitt’s appearance in The Lost City was revealed earlier this year. After working together in Bullet Train, Bullock asked Pitt to lend his weatherman good looks and 57-year-old action hero status to The Lost City. Fun fact: Pitt played the resident weatherman of Comedy Central’s The Jim Jefferies Show.

Will his latest cameo live up to Deadpool 2Confessions of a Dangerous MindTrue Romance

Hopefully, the extent of his work in The Lost City hasn’t been ruined in the trailer…

We’ll see when it hits theaters on March 15, 2022.
