Going “Instagram official” with someone is the new way to say “I love you” in the digital age. Even celebrities get in on the gooey internet confessions of adoration when they’ve found a main squeeze. But actor Casey Affleck did so in an unusual – and surprisingly benevolent – way.
That’s because the 46-year-old Oscar winner went public with his relationship with 23-year-old actress Caylee Cowan on Instagram…while the couple was donating blood together.

“she is MY Love, and she ALWAYS shows up when it counts…” Affleck wrote about Cowan in a lengthy caption. “However Caylee is usually unenthused about needles, blood, etc, and though she believably feigned nonchalance all the way to the donation location, once on the table with her sleeve rolled up, she was overheard quietly asking a staff member, “Is there a chance I might die?” The answer was no, of course. Donating is not only SAFE but PAINLESS and QUICK.”
We’ll spare you the rest of the caption, which was basically a PSA for blood donation, with a tiny bit of baseball and Cowan titillation thrown in. (We gotta say, she doesn’t sound like the sharpest tool in the shed if she thought she could die from donating blood…but she’s cute so we’ll forgive her.)
What makes Cowan truly brave is going public with the controversial actor, who was sued for sexual harassment by two former I’m Still Here co-workers (he settled both cases out of court for an undisclosed amount). Talk about bad blood! Then again, that all transpired back in 2010, when Cowan was only 12 years old (!), so she might’ve missed that news story.
We give this bloody valentine of a couple ‘til the end of the year, tops…
