The Funniest GIFs to Celebrate the Life and Work of Late Comedic Actor Willie Garson

Hollywood has lost another comedic legend. Willie Garson, known for his hilarious role as Stanford Blatch, best friend to Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City, as well as depicting con man confidante Mozzie on White Collar, has died. The actor, who was only 57, had been fighting pancreatic cancer, yet recently managed to revive his SATC role for the And Just Like That reboot coming to HBO Max.

Garson’s SATC co-stars took to social media to grieve the loss of the beloved entertainer.

“So deeply, deeply sad we have lost @WillieGarson,” Cynthia Nixon tweeted. “We all loved him and adored working with him. He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life. He was a source of light, friendship and show business lore. He was a consummate professional—always.”

“I first met Willie in 1995 on the spooky nighttime set of the X-Files. He immediately made me laugh. Little did I know that we would have the joy of sharing Sex and the City + And Just Like That together. Willie is beloved by our entire community. He was smarter and funnier than you ever would have imagined. We are bereft without him,” Kristin Davis posted on Instagram.

“I couldn’t have had a more brilliant TV partner. I’m devastated and just overwhelmed with Sadness,” wrote Mario Cantone, who played Stanford Blatch’s husband Anthony Marentino, on Instagram. “Taken away from all of us way soon. You were a gift from the gods sweet Willie. Rest …I love you.”

In honor of this sweet, funny soul who made us laugh until we cried, we rounded up the best GIFs of Willie Garson to celebrate his life and work. Rest in Peace, Willie. Your performances will live on forever.
