Watch Kelly Clarkson’s Son Interrupt Chris Martin Mid-Performance, Why Didn’t We Think to Do This Decades Ago?

We never thought we’d say this, but American Idol actually did some good in the world thanks to Kelly Clarkson. In a magical butterfly effect spanning space and time, one little flapping of the wings led to a small child interrupting Chris Martin in the middle of an acoustic performance of “Yellow” – and for one fleeting moment, all was right in the universe.

In case you forgot (good for you), Clarkson was the first contestant to win American Idol way back in 2002. Nearly 20 years later, serendipity struck while Martin was visiting The Kelly Clarkson Show to serenade Clarkson’s kids with Coldplay’s first hit (which happens to be daughter River Rose’s favorite).

Mid-song, just as Martin closed his eyes to really get into the moment, the stars aligned, and little Remington blurted out how we all feel in the middle of a Coldplay song – albeit more politely than the verbiage we’d have used.

Take a look:

As Clarkson pointed out in her post, maybe all the images of yellow water sent subconscious signals to Remington’s bladder, leaving him no choice but to sound the alarms. Either way, by verse two he was ready to burst.

Who knew that a show largely responsible for the homogenization of popular music would actually lead to one perfect nanosecond of existence in our own lifetime?

Coldplay’s new album Music of the Spheres drops on October 15. The British foursome is hoping this release fares better than their last effort Everyday Life which was the band’s lowest-selling album of their entire career.

Guessing from Remington’s assessment, they might want to throw in a toilet paper insert with every vinyl. Or better yet, just start making music for home bidets. Now that’s what we call music of the spheres.
