It only seems like seven days ago that Lamar Odom was brain dead and walking towards the light (good work, Kris), but as it turns out, it was just the Kardashians’ selfie light. Not only is he not brain dead, he’s fully responsive and expected to make a recovery after months of rehab which he will undergo in LA.
The 35-year-old NBA champ has been discharged from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas and is on his way to California, a source close to Odom confirms to ET. Another source tells ET that the Odom is being transported via helicopter from the hospital to a private jet, which will then take him to L.A…Odom had been recovering at Sunrise Hospital since last Tuesday after he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada. Previously the transfer was contingent upon whether Odom’s condition was stable enough to make the trek. The ability to make the trip would be a good sign for Odom, who has been making strides since his hospitalization. Still, a source close to the family told ET on Monday that Odom is “still very weak.” He continues to receive dialysis after kidney failure. “He is showing improvement in his condition, however, regaining complete organ function continues to be a top medical priority,” the source said.
This is great news for Odom and his actual family, but you have to think the big winner here is Kris Jenner. You know how much production moves cost? Kris would have been forced to lay off about hundred Chinese kids if Lamar stayed in Las Vegas any longer than he did. And I don’t know the range of the shock collar that Kanye makes Kim wear, but the microchip tag Khloe wears probably got some great data for wildlife research.
What good is a possible death if it can’t be properly monetized with paparazzi exclusives? Not good at all, I say.
