Buffalo Bills’ Mario Williams Is Suing His Ex To Get Back A 10 Carat Ring

Buffalo Bills’ defensive end, Mario Williams, was a star here in Raleigh, then he was the first pick in the 2006 NFL draft by the Houston Texans because they were smart and didn’t draft Vince Young or Reggie Bush. He just signed a $100M contract with the Bills in 2012 with $50M guaranteed, but he’s now suing his former fiancee for $785,000 to get back the engagement ring she kept when she dumped his ass. Real smooth, bro. Houston Chronicle reports:

Attorneys for Williams filed suit last week in Harris County state district court against Erin Marzouki, who is described in the lawsuit as Williams’ former fiancée. The suit seeks recovery of a 10.04 carat diamond ring from Marzouki in the wake of her decision in January to end her engagement with Williams, according to court documents.

“(Marzouki) never intended to marry (Williams) and used the relationship as a means to get to (Williams’) money and acquire gifts,” said the lawsuit, filed by Houston attorneys Monica Schulz Orlando and Michael Gary Orlando.

The attorneys are asking the court to obtain the ring from Marzouki and to hold it until the legal action is resolved. They were not immediately available for comment today.

Williams presented the engagement ring to Marzouki on Feb. 19, 2012, according to the lawsuit. He also gave her an American Express card to which she charged $108,000 during 2012 and “additional luxurious items” valued at about $230,000, attorneys said.

However, Marzouki “unilaterally terminated” the engagement on Jan. 21, 2012, and has refused Williams’ request to return the diamond engagement ring, which she had promised to do if the engagement ended, according to the lawsuit.

If you ever wanted to know why the Lifetime and Investigative Discovery channels exist, then this story should help explain that to you. Too bad it won’t explain to Mario Williams that you can’t sue to get back a gift or something you gave willingly. Believe me, I tried. I gave my virginity to Alyssa Milano. Did she appreciate my precious gift? No she didn’t. And it’s not like she didn’t have the $650 I was seeking in damages.
