Despite controversy and warnings from Meryl Streep concerning the now infamous Vanity Fair cover, the Sun UK reports that Keira Knightley has defended her choice to pose nude for legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz. The February issue of Vanity Fair which featured very nude Knightley and Scarlett Johansson, has several publications claiming young actresses are pressured into baring their flesh to gain more recognition. Keira took it for what it was – a fun opportunity. She said,
I’m 20. It’s Annie Leibovitz. Why not? It’s something to show the grandchildren.”
With all due respect, Meryl Streep needs to shut up and go back in her gingerbread house. Everyone knows that the last thing Scarlett and Keira need to do to get a role in a movie is to get naked in a magazine. They are two of the best young actresses in Hollywood today, and it wasn’t like this was Hustler and they were spread eagle licking on a dildo made of ice. It was Vanity Fair and the shoot was tasteful. Although, I’d be remiss if I didn’t say I am glad that Keira is cool enough to mention how much our grandchildren will enjoy this. To be honest, I’ve enjoyed it several times myself already.
