Britain’s Star magazine reports that Gwyneth Paltrow nearly starred opposite Vanilla Ice in the rapper’s film debut, Cool As Ice. Paltrow wanted to star in the movie, one of the first roles that she was offered, but her father refused due to the overtly sexual script
One line said something like, ‘My phone number is 555-6969’. He closed the script and said, ‘Over my dead body!'”
Unless the script called for her to get on all fours while performing oral on Vanilla Ice immediately after saying that line, her dad might have overreacted just a little. According to imdb.com, this wasn’t even one of the memorable quotes, so it’s not like anyone would have remembered her in the movie, anyway. How many people remember George Clooney in Return of the Killer Tomatoes? Or Denzel Washington in Carbon Copy? Not many. Coincidentally, the girl that took the role, Kristin Minter, was cast as “Soccer Mom” in the new Jennifer Aniston flick, Friends With Money. So really, who’s laughing now?
