Superpowers aren’t real, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t fun to think about. Imagine being able to shoot lasers out of your eyes or leap tall buildings in a single bound. OK, that second one would only be cool until you hit the ground, but still, it illustrates a very good point we want to make forthwith. We’re going to be focusing on INDIVIDUAL superpowers for this list. Powers in congruence with other power are not an option. Do we make ourselves clear?
Keeping that tidbit in mind, allow us to rank what we believe to be the best single superpowers to possess.

13. Breathing Underwater
As cool as this may seem on a surface level (pun intended), it's not really going to have much use outside of water. Therefore, you're kind of cheating yourself unless you plan to make the ocean your permanent home. Plus, with no other powers besides that, you'd still be a pretty easy prey down there.

12. Phasing Through Objects
Sure, it looks cool and you could technically kill people with it if needed, but beyond that, you can pretty much get through locked doors or walls. Safes if you wanted to use your powers for bad.

11. Telepathy
If there's one thing the show Young Justice did well (especially in its second season), it was introducing the idea of the moral ambiguity of tinkering with someone else's mind. Whether it's controlling it, reading it, or even breaking it, there's a lot of responsibility that comes with such a power. We're not sure we're ready to make such heavy decisions with so many simpler, yet more satisfying options to choose from.

10. Teleportation
This is borderline phasing through objects, only this time you could presumably teleport to wherever you'd like as long as you could see it. Would that include just looking at pictures of places? Sure, why not. Even if so, it's still little more than a time-saving power.

9. Hyper-Intelligence
Arguably not an actual superpower, but heightened smarts still go a long way for the likes of both good guys like Batman and evildoers such as Lex Luthor. It's saved their lives and the lives of others on more than one occasion, so it's hard to knock it as a legit force to be reckoned with. It seems the more you've got, the more formidable you become. Right, Brainiac?

8. Healing Factor
It's neat to see it in action, but at the same time, it still freaking hurts. Plus, the fact that you heal so quickly only means there will be more chances for you to get hurt since you can jump back into action in a fraction of the time of a normal person.

7. Telekinesis
Moving things and chucking them around with your thoughts is pretty rad. We just have a feeling it would lend itself to becoming entirely too lazy (if there is such a thing as being too lazy).

6. Strength
Strength will certainly come in handy in a fight or to keep helicopters from taking off. However, it's the "blunt force" of all the superpowers. You can lift and break things. Sadly, that makes several other powers much more enticing.

5. Invulnerability
Yep, this one really makes a healing factor seem like a total waste. Why nearly bleed out from gunshot wounds when you can have them bounce right off you and feel nothing?

4. Invisibility
Regardless of the reason you want to be skulking around sight unseen, it's a pretty useful tool to have at your disposal. Again, this is another power which would easily come with its share or moral dilemmas, but for whatever reason it always comes pretty high on the desirable talents list.

3. Shape-Shifting
Who needs the ability to appear and disappear at will when they can be anyone at any time?

2. Speed
Not only does it get you from Point A to Point B in a fraction of the time, but generally speaking, it improves your reaction time as well. You essentially have the ability to see the world around you in slow-motion. That's a pretty hard power to top in the functionality department. Also, this scene pretty much speaks for itself.

1. Flight
Come on, it's flying. Even if you couldn't fly faster than a speeding bullet (since that would be breaking the "individual" rule), it's still the best power out there. The ability to take off into the air at will whenever you want is simply too good an opportunity to pass up, even at the expense of some of the flashier superpowers.
