We are living in the golden age of wacky comic books. Or is it the Silver Age? Modern? Whatever. I don’t want to nerd this place up immediately and lose half of you right off the bat. The point I’m trying to make is that comics are so much more diverse and accessible than they used to be, and the funniest part of that is seeing the crazy concoctions, crossovers, and all out lunacy that hits the shelves every month.
Surely you immediately noticed that this is a list of comics that are already on the stands and not upcoming. That was intentional, believe it or not. As a comic fan, there is nothing more annoying to me than solicits. Don’t get me wrong, I love to know what’s on the horizon, but then I just get antsy and have to wait for the actual release dates. So instead, we rounded up the craziest comic books put out this past month so that once you know they exist, you can waste no time going out and seeing how ridiculous (but usually entertaining) they really are.
Fascinatingly Peculiar Comics Released In November 2017
Granted, not the biggest selection of “out there” books this month, but we’re guessing that if we left any out, you’ll be sure to tell us all about it. Until next time…

The Jetsons #1
Photo: DC Comics
Price: $3.99
Think the rebooted The Flintstones comic, only now it's a darker, grittier version of The Jetsons. The first issue of this miniseries may have been light on laughs, but suspense is already skyrocketing.

Black Lightning: Cold Dead Hands #1 / Deadman #1

Price: $3.99 ea.
Not weird in and of themselves, but it's a smidge unusual that the original creators of both characters (respectively) came back to give it another go. Also pretty cool if we do say so ourselves.

FORCE #1
Photo: Action Lab Comics
Price: $3.99
There is nothing superhero-y about this football tale. Therefore, kind of bizarre to go the comic book route at all. But hey, when in Rome (or at least a Roman-esque colosseum), may as well throw a Hail Mary.

Iron Maiden: Legacy Of The Beast #1
Photo: Heavy Metal
Price: $3.99
It's the comic book based on the mobile role playing game (also titled Iron Maiden: Legacy Of The Beast) you likely didn't know existed based on the fictional character Eddie the Head based around the music of heavy metal band Iron Maiden. There, now you're as thoroughly confused as we are.

Doomsday Clock #1
Photo: DC Comics
Price: $4.99
Watchmen meets the DC Comics universe -- officially. Heads will roll as one of the biggest events in the publisher's history unfolds in this 12-issue epic that is sure to change the game forever. Is that a big enough draw for ya?

John Wick #1
Photo: Dynamite Entertainment
Price: $3.99
The origin story of John Wick unfolds from "Planet Hulk" writer Greg Pack as we decide whether the action-packed nature of the films can properly transfer over to the printed page. Likely not, but we're just too scared of the guy not to check it out.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles / Ghostbusters II #1-5

Price: $3.99
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. In fact, expand upon it. And then, since that worked out so well, go ahead and do it again next month in another series sure to make our list.
