Despite PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ continued success, with over 20 million players now having bought the game, and millions more expected to join in with the Xbox One release on December 12, it still only has one map.
“Erangel” is the only location available in PUBG, and for those have spent 100+ hours with the game, it’s starting to get a little old and repetitive. The demand for a change of scenery is on the rise.
Thankfully, developer Bluehole has two maps in the works. The first is a desert map inspired by South America, while the second is based on an island in the Adriatic Sea.
Bringing the focus back to the desert map, which is expected to launch early next year, Bluehole has released four new screenshots to show development progress.
Combine the latest teaser images with the previously released screenshots, and we start to get a good idea of what this map is all about.
Back in September, a dataminer found the following map. It appears to show the key locations of the upcoming area. While viewing the image, do remember that the desert map is still in development and may change before launch. This is just to give you an idea of what could be coming to the game.
