Who does he think he is? Chucky?
As you’ve surely heard by now, not only are Danny McBride and David Gordon Green soft rebooting the Halloween franchise from the days of old (as in, not the Rob Zombie films), but actress Jamie Lee Curtis — who played original protagonist Laurie Strode — will return to the iconic role. It’s a pretty big deal considering it took her (H)20 years to do so the first time, but it also brings back some bad memories. Of course, we’re referring to her not-so-iconic death in the follow-up that never should have been Halloween: Resurrection.
We recently put together a piece about lead characters in film and television that were killed almost instantly in the next installment, and in doing so discovered something that kind of makes Laurie’s unnecessary return/death all worth. But first, have a look at the scene and see if you spot it yourself.
Did Michael Myers Flip Us Off As He Killed Jamie Lee Curtis In Halloween: Resurrection?
That’s right loyal fans, whether it was intentional or not, Michael Myers felt your pain, as well. Wait a minute, he doesn’t feel pain. Oh, sorry, we meant to say that he couldn’t give less of a crap what you think, and flipped you the bird while quite literally knocking the character off. Let’s have a closer look just to be certain:

Yep, pretty unmistakably the middle finger (just don’t lighten the picture too much or it’s much less convincing and funny). Nobody hangs from a ledge like that unless they want you to know you can fuck right off if you disagree with their methods. But hey, at least we can take comfort in the fact that whoever’s decision it was to obliterate the immensely popular character from the franchise proper, they did so without the slightest bit of remorse or fan service. Nope, nevermind. Not comforting in the least. We’re really bad at consolation today. Oh well. All’s well that ends well, and Laurie will be alive again soon. As for the well part, we’ll just have to wait and see.
