Odds are if somebody walked up to you this morning and asked you what you thought about John Gardner, you’d respond with something like, “Who in the hell is John Gardner?”
According to WMBF News, Gardner is the mayor of Aynor, South Carolina, a town located roughly 30 miles northwest of Myrtle Beach known to the locals simply as “The Little Golden Town,” but odds are he isn’t feeling too golden after he was recently pulled over by police for driving down a road on a lawnmower with an open beer.
Video from the police cruiser dash cam shows the moment officers came upon Gardner cruising down the street on a Friday night on his “fun” lawnmower, and it also captured some of the dialogue between them and the mayor that involved apologies, “tough spots” and of course, a can of Miller High Life.
Because he has money and power, Gardner wasn’t charged or cited for DUI this time around, and an official with the Horry County Police said they’re just going to use the video as a “training opportunity” this time around. So yeah, ain’t that some shit?
The most embarrassing part of that clip? You guessed it: He’s the mayor of a town, and he’s still drinking High Life.
