Lonzo Ball has yet to play in an NBA regular season game, but the Lakers top draft pick has been making headlines all summer earning MVP NBA Summer League honors, starring in a recently launched Facebook reality show, and now releasing his first official rap single.

Under the moniker ZO2, Ball’s new song is “inspired” by his little brother LiAngelo’s new signature Big Baller Brand shoe “Melo Ball 1.”

The timing perfectly coincides with the precocious 19-year-old, point guard’s “hot take” on rap legend Nas in the premiere episode of the reality show, Ball in the Family,  “Y’all outdated, man,” said Ball when asked about what kind of hip hop he likes. “Don’t nobody listen to Nas anymore… Real hip-hop is Migos, Future.”

Now, hip hop heads will be judging the Lakers prodigy on his own rap skills, which upon first listen has some promise, but is as shaky as his awkward jumper with lines like “Born to ball thats just what it is, I’m a King lil bro a Prince, Throwing racks and you throwing fits, How you hatin’ and then you banging this.”

No doubt, family patriarch and hype man, Lavar Ball will be singing “Melo Ball 1’s” praises, calling his eldest son the next JAY-Z.
