As the summer of 2017 winds down, the good music keeps on coming. This New Music Friday Playlist is especially stacked with the latest releases from Queens of the Stone Age, Lil Uzi Vert, Action Bronson, and more.
Queens of the Stone Age – Villains
Josh Homme’s desert rockers first new album in four years was produced by Mark Ronson which had my curiosity, but the bouncy badass single “The Way You Used To Do” got my attention. Now the whole album is here and I can’t wait to rev up the Harley (okay, Prius) and hit the road.
Lil Uzi Vert – Luv Is Rage 2
One of the most anticipated albums of 2017 is finally here. The post-trap star’s debut studio LP and the sequel to his 2015 mixtape, Luv Is Rage, features A-list cameos (The Weeknd and Pharrell) and includes a song of summer contender in “XO TOUR Llif3,”
Maya Jane Coles – Take Flight
The Hapa (Japanese-British) house producer has been on the underground scene for nearly a decade, but this elevated collection clearly has higher aspirations.
Ramin Djawadi – Game of Thrones Season 7
Game of Thrones season 7 will come to an end this weekend, but you can still relive all the greatest (and not so great moments) with composer Ramin Djawadi’s epic scores for HBO’s hit series.
Action Bronson – Wolfpack
The Queens rapper is now a full-blown tv star with not one, but two shows on Viceland, yet has found time to get back in the studio to complete the third installment in his beloved Blue Chips series.
