Conor McGregor’s Sparring Partner Just Quit Because Of These Pictures

Although it’s a giant, side-show money grab, MMA star Conor McGregor has possibly the biggest fight of his career when he steps into the boxing ring to face undefeated Floyd Mayweather on August 26. But with roughly three weeks to go, he’s now down a training partner after some serious drama has unfolded over some pictures on social media.

Paulie Malignaggi is a former welterweight champion who decided to join McGregor’s camp as a training partner. Based on some new pics McGregor’s team published, it looks like they wanted to show the world that McGregor is ready for Mayweather after beating the pulp out of Malignaggi.

Buttttt it appears the pictures may not be an exact representation of McGregor’s boxing prowess.

First, there are unwritten rules in the boxing world that you don’t post pictures or video from a practice unless both fighters agree. Unless this is a clever publicity stunt, it appears Malignaggi didn’t know the pictures would go up and that they are entirely out of context.

Also, here’s what the fighter had to say on his social media after the pics were posted as he calls out McGregor’s team to post video of how the practice really went.

Although not likely, it’s possible the photographer went rogue and posted these pictures on his own. Regardless of what really happened, this drama keeps people talking about the fight. McGregor’s team knows this. The question now is whether or not McGregor will actually land a punch on Mayweather.

And if you’re thinking the fight may be called off? — nope.
