The minds behind the popular YouTube gaming channel Game Grumps have now released Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, a dating simulation game that features a variety of Hot Dads(TM) to woo, and it’s already proven to be a hit on Steam.
The game, headed up by Games Grumps’ Vernon Shaw (formerly of similarly popular YouTube channel Hot Pepper Gaming) in collaboration with Leighton Gray, is another entry in a genre that has been growing increasingly ludicrous in recent years, with the likes of Hatoful Boyfriend allowing you to court pigeons (yes, pigeons) and House Party becoming a big hit with YouTubers as a result of its off-the-wall, sexually explicit sense of humor.

Dream Daddy is a lot more laid-back in that regard, with it placing you in the shoes of a hot dad trying to embark upon romantic relationships with other hot dads. The game’s story sees you and your daughter arriving at the sleepy seaside town of Maple Bay, “only to discover that everyone in your neighborhood is a single, dateable dad!” After deciding upon the appearance of your dad, you then set off on an adventure to romance the pants off of Teather Dad, Goth Dad, Bad Dad and a bunch of other dads.

The game arrived on Steam today after suffering an unfortunate delay due to some unforeseen last-minute problems, though it’s proven very popular on its first day on sale. Bolstered by Game Grumps’ wide fan base (the group has nearly 4 million subscribers on YouTube), the game has topped the Steam sales charts for the day. The Grumps have since taken to Twitter to thank their fans for downloading the game, with the channel’s founder Arin Hanson (also known as Egoraptor) tweeting: “We are a game studio now.”
What a day. Thank you all so much for making Dream Daddy a success. I am beside myself… we are a game studio now.

Mine and @graylish's big hope for this game was that people would love the Dads as much as we loved them. Thank you, everyone.
