In the aftermath of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington’s suicide yesterday comes shocking new revelations that only make the tragedy that much more sad.

Just hours after the 41-year-old singer was found dead at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, a sick troll allegedly hacked his widow Talinda Bennington’s Twitter account, sending out vile messages that she “never really loved” her husband and that she was having an affair with Linkin Park bandmate Mike Shinoda.
“I guess this is the time to say it but I have been cheating on Chester with Mike Shinoda….,” said the Twitter message. “I never really loved him.”
Although another Tweet stated “I’m not hacked I just was in love with the money hurts to say,” the Tweets have since been taken down.
What we do know is that Bennington’s suicide came on the day of what would’ve been his close friend Chris Cornell’s 53rd birthday. Bennington, like Cornell, had a history of depression, alcohol and drug abuse, but were both in good spirits, playing new music with their old bands and touring to packed houses of diehard fans.
Bennington, who was godfather to the Soundgarden frontman’s son, played tribute to his rock star friend by penning a heartfelt letter (see below) and signing a stirring rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” at his funeral in May (watch it below).

Now, the music world has lost both Bennington and Cornell, two leading vocalists of their time, who sang about dark themes like death and despair with passion and defiance, yet were able to sound vulnerable even at their most powerful state.
