Each episode features verite-style footage of David (playing himself) at home, at work and around LA, as he gets into predicaments with both fictional and real-life personalities. The series was originally developed from a one-hour special that aired in 1999 called Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm, which David and HBO originally envisioned as a one-time project but later involved into the award-winning series it is today (the show has been nominated for a total of 39 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, winning twice, and it also received five Golden Globe Award nominations and won for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy in 2003).

Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s season 9 premiere is October 1st on HBO Canada. It will be the series’ return after a six-year hiatus.
