The music video is back. What was once the essence of MTV and then buried by the fall of the music label industry and rise of reality programming (Jersey Shore) has seen a comeback with a new generation of artists embracing the form.

This week alone sees the release of new music videos from the XX, Danger Mouse, and The Killers. Check out these Blockbuster Summer Music Videos below.
The XX – “I Dare You” directed by Alasdair McLellan
The music video for “I Dare You” is described as a “love letter to Los Angeles,” where the London trio recorded tracks off their latest album “I See You.” Directed by frequent collaborator Alasdair McLellan (who helmed the videos for “On Hold” and “Say Something Loving”), “I See You” features next big things Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven in Stranger Things), Moonlight star Ashton Sanders, and Paris Jackson.
Danger Mouse ft. Run The Jewels & Big Boi – “Chase Me” directed by Andrew Donoho
Danger Mouse’s contribution to Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver soundtrack is as buzz worthy as the feature film itself (out now), featuring cameos by Run The Jewels and Big Boi, plus a Jon Spencer Blues Explosion sample that’s to die for… in a blaze of glory (of course).
The Killers – “The Man” directed by Tim Mattia
The Killers are back where they belong, breaking down masculine stereotypes, headlining music festivals (Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, ACL) and putting out new music, starting with their shiny new single, “The Man”, off the group’s upcoming fifth album, Wonderful Wonderful. The music video for “The Man” was shot in and around the rockers’ beloved Las Vegas hometown and sees The Killers collaborate with the award-winning director Tim Mattia for the first time.
Toro Y Moi – “You and I” directed by Harry Israelson
Toro Y Moi’s new song and accompanying music video “You and I,” features a barefoot, piano straddling Chaz Bear showing off his softer, gentler side for a stunningly sparse track that appears on his forthcoming album Boo Boo (out July 7 via Carpark).
Angus & Julia Stone – “Snow” directed by Onil Kotian
The Sydney-born siblings make endless summer hippie-hipster songs that hypnotize you into a vape-like bliss. “Snow” is the first single off their forthcoming album that will include a North American tour. Go HERE for more details and dates.
