Decades ago, a Visitor came to Earth with one mission: to kill Hellboy before he could destroy the universe. And yet this extraterrestrial assassin found it within himself to spare the life of the demon child. This is the story about how and why the Visitor stayed on Earth, and his story is almost over.
Through the first four issues, we’ve witnessed the Visitor take on the human identity, Michael Mathers, as he observed Hellboy’s life and offered occasional assistance and even guidance. Michael even found companionship with a woman named Ruby, but he seemingly lost the chance to rejoin his people in the stars. Now, an opportunity to return to his home has presented itself as events are catching up to the Conqueror Worm storyline, and Michael has come to Austria to share one final message with Hellboy. But it may cost Michael everything that he’s gained.
In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview from The Visitor: How and Why He Stayed # 5, Michael encounters some of Hellboy’s foes as he wanders through Haunte Castle, and they won’t like what he has to say.
