Chris Wilson Joins Air Farce Canada 150, Airing July 1st On CBC

Chris Wilson was born and raised in Victoria, BC, and has a BFA from the University of Victoria. He now spends his time between Vancouver and Toronto, and is one of the newest members of the troupe making his debut in Air Farce Canada 150.

He has appeared on The Beaverton (The Comedy Network), What Would Sal Do (HBO Canada/ Crave TV) and Meet the Family (City). He has also worked with Toronto’s acclaimed Bad Dog Theatre Company and the Canadian Comedy Award-winning sketch troupe Get Some. Wilson is also one half of the three-time Canadian Comedy Award-winning sketch comedy duo Peter n’ Chris.

Here’s what the young actor had to say about his new gig and why he feels honoured to be a part of the Air Farce team.

CraveOnline: Tell us about Air Farce Canada 150.

Chris Wilson: It airs at the same time across Canada July 1st (8pm in Ontario and 5pm in BC). There are a lot of great cameos by celebrities like Chris Haddfield, Ed Robertson from The Barenaked Ladies, and cast members from Corner Gas. It’s a celebration of Canada.

How is it different from the New Year’s Eve special?

The New Year’s special can be a bit roasting of the year that just happened, but this is more of a celebration of Canada and what we are. We poke fun at ourselves and reinvent historic Canadian moments such as the invention of the telephone.

Did you watch Air Farce growing up?

Yeah, definitely. I remember watching it with my dad. Most of my family was pretty into the show.
