Liam Gallagher “Disappointed” By No Oasis Reunion at One Love Manchester

Liam Gallagher has spoke of his disappointment at the lack of an Oasis reunion at One Love Manchester, saying that his brother Noel Gallagher has “shown his true colours” by not performing at the charity event.

Liam, who initially wasn’t included on the One Love Manchester set list but flew in from Germany in order to make an appearance, performed classic Oasis songs ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’ and ‘Live Forever’, with Coldplay’s Chris Martin taking over guitar duties on the latter track. While many were hoping that Noel would join his brother for the event and stage an impromptu Oasis reunion, Liam ultimately performed solo to close out the show.

In a series of messages posted to Twitter, Liam said that he “would like to apologise” for Noel’s absence, calling him a “sad fuck” for not performing alongside him.

He also responded to a fan regarding Noel’s absence, saying “fuck the [Oasis] reunion”, adding: “it’s about people helping other people and he’s once again shown his true fucking colours”.

Liam had downplayed speculation regarding a potential Oasis reunion prior to the One Love Manchester event, telling BBC’s Radio One: “I mean, I’m up for it but I think we’re booked for a gig somewhere.”

Asked if an Oasis reunion would be a possibility further down the line, he replied: “No, it ain’t. Everyone knows I love our kid. He doesn’t speak to me, we don’t speak to each other.

“I’ll speak to him some day. It’s all very sad, but we’ll get over it… I guess it mustn’t be nice for my mum… If Oasis ever got back together… if they do, they do. If they don’t, they don’t.”

One Love Manchester was held in aid of those affected by the tragic Manchester terror attacks, with it being organised by Ariana Grande and her production team. The event reported raised over £2 million for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, bringing the total amount raised to over £10 million. Performers included Take That, Robbie Williams, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry.
