Germany’s Rock am Ring Festival Postponed Due to Terrorist Threat

Germany’s Rock am Ring festival has been evacuated due to a “concrete” terrorist threat and subsequent police investigation. According to various reports, including the Daily Mail, over 90,000 fans were asked to leave the festival site “in a calm and controlled manner.”

Representatives for the Rock am Ring festival announced on their official Facebook page that “due to a terrorist of the police has the organizer from rock am ring as a precautionary measure, the festival need to interrupt provisionally, also in the event area in order to allow for investigations.”

They also added that they are hoping the three-day festival, which was headlined by Liam Gallagher, Prophets of Rage, System of a Down, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and hometown heroes Rammstein hopes to continue tomorrow. 



Tensions are already high as the terror threat on Rock am Ring comes just a couple of weeks after an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England was attacked by a suicide bomber, leaving 22 people dead and dozens more injured.
