Sasquatch! has left its footprint on the festival music scene with an off-the-beaten path location that literally sings.

While other music festivals try to create an idyllic getaway, the Pacific Northwest’s Memorial Day music festival blow out is the real deal. Set against the Instagram-worthy backdrop of The Gorge Amphitheater, Sasquatch! has no equals in offering cinematic views of the Columbia River, naturally amplified acoustics that bounce off the Cascade Ranges, and real deal camping (no glampers allowed).

But, enough talk. If you’re going to Sasquatch! Music Festival 2017 this weekend (Friday, May 26 to Sunday, May 28, 2017) here’s a rundown of what to expect.

In a surprise to no one, the enigmatic Frank Ocean had to cancel his headlining gig due to “production issues”. The good news is that LCD Soundsystem has replaced the enigmatic R&B crooner (check out LCD member explain above), which is in my opinion an upgrade (and I dig me some Frank Ocean) considering that the Washington crowd will be one of the first fans to hear new live music from the un-retired New York electro-jam band.

Fred Armisen>Mac Miller
Yes, I know Mac Miller (6:15 pm to 7:15 pm) is playing at the same time as Fred Armisen (6:15 pm to 7 pm), but I have to give the edge to the former SNL vet and Portlandia star who not only yucks it up, but is a seasoned musician as well who will surely bring out some famous friends on-stage.
Pace Yourself
Outdoor festivals like Sasquatch! are truly a marathon not a sprint. Sunday is arguably the best day for music with Chance the Rapper, Mount Kimbie, the Shins, Phantogram, Rufus du Sol and Crave favorites Bob Moses (whom I interviewed at ACL 2016) all playing back-to-back.
