Shed Island – St. John’s, NL
Independent music has found its place on the Canadian scene at Shed Island. On from August 4-7, performers include La Luna, Protruders, Imposter Grey, and Blunt Chunks.
RBC Ottawa Bluesfest – Ottawa, ON
Mark your calendars: from July 6-16 the nation’s capital will be buzzing with musical icons like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Live, 50 Cent, Toby Keith, Muse, and P!nk.
Great Okanagan Beer Festival – Kelowna, BC
Kicking off in just a few short weeks (it takes place from May 11-13), the Okanagan Beer Festival has a reputation for showcasing some of the best beer-makers in Canada and the world. Check out their cask events, or attend a beer-brewing workshop.
Wayhome – Oro-Medonte, ON
Flume, Cage The Elephant, Imagine Dragons, and Frank Ocean will all be taking to the stage during the Wayhome festival, on from July 28-30. The website promises to make this “about music, food, art and film. And we’re making it a place for people who love one or all of those things to come together to make a kaleidoscope of sound, smell, colour, and spectacle.”
Osheaga – Montreal, QC
Montreal’s premiere music festival, running August 4-6, takes place at Parc Jean-Drapeau, with the beautiful city of Montreal behind it. Check out performances by The Weeknd, Alabama Shakes, Lorde, Muse, and many, many more.
