The first trailer for the new Heath Ledger documentary I Am Heath Ledger left us in a puddle of tears earlier this month, and now the film has received an Australian release date.
The doco has been confirmed for an Aussie cinema release from Thursday, 11th May, after it makes its premiere in Ledgers’ hometown of Perth on Tuesday, 9th May.
The film will screen for one week only at cinemas around the country, and the full list of participating cinemas can be found at the doco’s official Australian website.
An exhibition featuring some of Ledger’s photographs and personal mementos will also open at the Art Gallery Of Western Australia in October.
Following the release of the first I Am Heath Ledger trailer, it was announced that it would make its world premiere at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival later this month.
Ledger died in New York in January 2008, at just 28 years of age.
