In a genre built on rebellion, nothing sticks a middle finger in the face of convention than a two-person rock band. Dynamic duos from Suicide to the White Stripes to The Black Keys to the Kills to the Japandroids prove that a dynamic duo can pack more punch than a full band.

The latest two-man wrecking crew to get the blood flowing are the ‘68. Josh Scogin (vocals/guitar) and Michael McClellan (drums) make music like they mean it. Combining hardcore with blues, it is the audio equivalent of a Boilermaker — a simple, refreshing slap in the face.
Crave is exclusively premiering the ’68’s new single “This Life Is Old, New, Borrowed, And Blue.” The fast and furious track sounds like if a Bleach-era Kurt Cobain took in his favorite cardigan to the dry cleaners and had to don his rock ‘n roll leather jacket to a dive bar gig.
Here’s what Scogin had to say about “This Life Is Old, New, Borrowed, And Blue”: “This is the very first song I wrote for the album. It definitely ‘connects’ more with my past than any of the other songs, so much so, that it almost didn’t make it into the album. It is one of my favorite jams but I had decided that if the other nine songs didn’t balance it out a bit was going to leave it behind. I’m really glad I didn’t have to.”
Speaking of, the ’68’s upcoming album Two Parts Viper is set for release on June 2nd via Cooking Vinyl America (you can pre-order it HERE).
