Stairs are becoming more and more appealing to me.
This couple in eastern China sure had Jesus on their side while on an escalator, because just a few weeks after telling you folks about a girl who had a piece of her leg cut off by an escalator, this couple at a subway station was almost killed by one.
The incident was caught on video, and it shows two passengers nearly miss getting crushed by the escalator as you can clearly see the stairs begin to pile up.

Luck Was On This Couple’s Side After They Barely Escaped An Escalator Trying To Crush Them
Just a few inches away from having their legs crushed.
Only one person ended up with minor injuries to their leg, but other than that all was well, as the emergency was triggered once the steps stacked up.

A spokesperson from Suzhou Rail Transit said that the escalator had a malfunction. He also should have stated that the sky is blue. Even though the escalator was fixed within 30 minutes it remained closed overnight for an inspection.
In other words, you folks should just take the stairs.
