Gorillaz have released four brand new tracks taken from their upcoming album Humanz, and you can listen to them right now.
The tracks, titled ‘Saturnz Bars’, ‘Andromeda’, ‘Ascension’ and ‘We Got The Power’ feature guest collaborators Popcaan, Vince Staples, Jehnny Beth and D.R.A.M. with former Britpop rival Noel Gallagher even appearing on the latter. Discussing former Oasis guitarist Noel’s appearance on the album, Gorillaz’ mastermind Damon Albarn said: “I mean now it feels like, completely, you know, not news at all really. He’s fantastic in the studio and it’s nice when you see how someone goes about their business.”
The release of the four tracks was also accompanied by two music videos for ‘Saturnz Barz’, illustrated by the band’s co-creator Jamie Hewlett, one of which is viewable in YouTube’s 360 mode. Take a look at the videos below:
The music video has proven to be incredibly popular on YouTube, with it making it to the top spot on the site’s trending page.
The band announced on Instagram that Humanz would be released on April 28, also announcing a secret concert today (March 24) which quickly sold out. However, the band revealed that those who pre-ordered the upcoming LP would be given “first access to tickets for future headline shows,” indicating that they would be touring the album at some point in the near future.
