League of Legends Player Angrily Headbutts Monitor, Gets Head Stuck

League of Legends is serious business. Not only is it one of the most high-earning Esports around, but it also rolls in millions of dollars from amateur players, too, with it garnering an astonishing 12 million active daily players. However, some people take LoL a little too seriously, as evidenced by a player in Lanzhou, China.

It’s common in China for gamers to meet up in an internet café, with it being a cheaper alternative to constructing your own gaming PC and often providing higher internet speeds than they’d get at home. However, one major downside to doing so is that those moments of unbridled rage you sometimes feel when playing a competitive game are on display for the public to see, with one particularly angry guy finding this out the hard way.

As revealed in photos shared on Chinese social media, a player in a ‘net café in Lanzhou became infuriated when one of his teammates caused his ranking to drop. Considering that players dedicate countless hours to improving their rank, this was a very big deal to the player, who in a fit of rage then proceeded to headbutt his monitor. Yep, you read that right.

The unnamed player, annoyed that his teammates had lagged behind and caused him to lose four games in a row, reportedly proceeded to express his frustration by shoving his head right through the center of the PC monitor. After doing so the player’s head then became stuck, forcing him to hang around with his head lodged in the widescreen display until staff members provided him with some assistance.

According to bystanders, the player was rushed to hospital and was treated for several wounds he had inflicted as a result of charging at the monitor like a rhinoceros. As you’d imagine, the internet café was forced to fork out for a new monitor, though you’d imagine that it was paid for out the wallet of the angry player.

Apparently the player is now fine, though one would imagine that when dealing with conflict in the future he’ll use his head a little less.
