Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban actor Jim Tavaré has suffered a broken neck and punctured lung after a near-fatal car crash.
Tavaré, who played Tom the Innkeeper in the third Harry Potter film, was involved in a serious car accident earlier this week and is now in ICU intensive care. According to a Facebook post from his wife, Tavaré has undergone two blood transfusions and, as of Tuesday (March 7), was about to head into his first surgery.
He has 15 broken ribs, fractures in both breastbones, a punctured lung, multiple breaks in his right leg, and a broken neck”, she added. “This is for real, not a movie role. Please hold some good thoughts for him as he fights his way out of this.”

However, he is mostly known for his role in Prison of Azkaban, with him portraying the role of the Leaky Cauldron’s landlord. Messages of support have been posted to his Facebook page since the accident.
